  1. Hey Danny, you have any advice on self-publishing?

    • Would I be way off in guessing whatever you intend to publish you will be pissing off the Christian right? Then I’d advise you not to mention where you live!
Seriously though, I used createspace.com to publish, really easy to use. I use Scribe software to write. I used my blog to create an audience before I published. Oh yeah and I didn’t tell anyone where I live.
So what you got cooking John?

      • A short work on our Creator: The Owner of All Infernal Names 🙂

Createspace looks great! What are their fees like?

      • It’s Amazon’s print on demand service so they charge whatever it takes to produce each copy and you keep the rest. No up front fee. Don’t forget Kindle too.
There’s a bloke I used for cover design, formatting etc. Antony at Freshly Squeezed Design, if you contact him he’ll look after you, tell him I sent you.
Oh and I recommend getting someone to proofread your work.

      • Sweet! I actually have a guy who’ll do formatting, supply the ISBN, and handle all the e-publishing. Knowing, though, that i can use createspace for hardcopies is great! I guess after he’s done the finished file its just a matter of starting an account, right?

And hey, how did you get your book so prominently up on your blog main page?

Comment by john zande | April 27, 2015

      • Yeah, all the instructions are there for you on the createspace website, and if I can figure it out then anyone can.
That graphic with my dog Bones was done for me by a fellow blogger and totally amazing artist called Marina Kanavaki. Can’t remember how I got it on the sidebar though. She told me how to do it but things like that don’t stay in my head very long. You could have your cover and books back cover blurb as your homepage rather than your blog posts, they’d be on a separate page.
If you need anything else just ask but it is almost 1am here so I’ll reply in the morning. Take care.

      • Cheers Danny, you’ve been a great help. And I know exactly what you mean about doing fancy things on the blog page. I have no idea, either.
