  1. Wow, as a citizen of a non-monarchist founded republic this makes sense. I can’t understand actually wanting a king or queen. Our elected officials are annoying enough.

    • The royal family are incredibly popular and people get irrational if you are less than enthusiastic about them. It’s tantamount to treason in some small minds. Seems to me a symptom of nationalistic insecurity.
      Personally I’m not a fan. To me they are German leeches who have position not because of a lucky birth, but because they are a product of deliberate inbreeding meant to exclude the commoner because we are somehow inferior.
