How it is…

A Place in Heaven for Jessie

We said goodbye to our eldest dog Jessie today. She had her troubles with diabetes and arthritis but that smile never left her face.

She suffered a stroke this morning, although we rushed her to the vets hospital up in Derby there was not much they could do.

I held her as she went to sleep and a smile settled on her face as she found peace.

Alf has been quieter than usual and I found Bones sitting alone in the kitchen looking miserable. The house seems empty.

Just thought I’d let you know.

  1. I’m so very very sorry, my friend…
I know they go to a better place and she’s carrying so much love.
She’ll always be with you, smiling. Always.

      • She IS and always will be special, my dear Danny.
I hear she’s with Frank, Loretta and Raffles, having a ball!
Hugs to all from the pack here.

  2. I’m sorry. We have 2 dogs at home whom we love very much. They rule over us, but they’re so sweet. I dread the thought that someday……

    • It comes to us all. Though we may not be able to do much about it we just have to make every day special between then and now, for ourselves and the ones we love.

  6. Oh my friend, i’m so terribly, terribly sorry to hear this. No words I can offer can possibly help fill that hole I know you now have, except perhaps to remind you that she had a good, happy life with you, and if she could, I’m sure she’d say, “Thank you, it’s been fun.”

    • Thanks mate. I don’t know if there is a heaven but it’s at times like this that you really really want there to be.

  7. Aww, so sorry to know about your loss. Indeed, she has an incredibly sweet and kind face. And yes, I know how painful it is to lose a friend like that. Take care, my friend…

    • She could be stubborn and headstrong, but if she wouldn’t do as she was told there was no point telling her off because that big smile would appear and she would get away with anything. My angel.
